Donald Ray Thompson, 52, of Littleton, died Monday, April 29, 2013.

Donald was a native of Halifax County, the son of the late Robert Henry Thompson and Josephine Rossi Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Thompson and his nephew, Chris Thompson. Donald was a member of Community Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Allen Thompson; four daughters, Julie T. Perdue and her husband, David, of Roanoke Rapids, Amy Thompson of Gunnison, CO, Jessica Thompson of Bell Chasse, LA, and Nikki Allen of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Linwood Brewer, Jr., Michael Riley Brewer, Joseph Brewer, Abigayle Perdue, Kristian Perdue, Anthony Lamb and Frederick Lamb; one great-granddaughter, Addisyn Dickens; two sisters, Anne Wells and Jane Ricks and her husband, Jon, all of Roanoke Rapids; three brothers, Bobby Thompson and his wife, Linda, of Roanoke Rapids, Charles Thompson of Cocoa, FL, and Tommy Thompson and his wife, Margie, also of Roanoke Rapids; his sister-in-law, Vivian Thompson, of Chester, VA; his aunt, Ruth Mitchell of Johnston, RI; his uncle, John Rossi, of Rome, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 1, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Bane Angles and Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
